About Brianne
My photography career has long been in the making. Ever since grade school recess and art have been my two favorite subjects. Drawing and painting never quite panned out for me. Fortunately photography, a different kind of visual art, came calling my name.
Eventually I was able to combine my two favorite things as a student-athlete studying photography and playing volleyball at the University of Nevada, Reno. Here I gained some expereince thinking not just creatively but critically about photography and added a third favorite thing to my life…and we tied the knot in Spring ‘06.
I have had the experience of shooting and printing both traditionally and digitally; using 35mm and 4×5 Large Format negs to digital files from my Canon 5D. (I love this Camera!)
Soon after graduating from UNR with a Bachelors in Art I started doing wedding photography in the Reno/Tahoe area. I now reside in Pocatello, Idaho and am open to travel in many areas. It turns out that I enjoy capturing these special days on camera. My style tends blend traditional and photo-journalistic photography resulting in what may be called “portrait journalism,” an increasingly popular style for modern brides. I am open to many kinds of photography and have been exploring other divisions of photography including Advertising, Stock Photography and Assignment work.
People always ask me what I enjoy shooting the most. I don’t think it’s what I shoot, but how I shoot that makes photography exciting for me.
